Film on Sunanda Pushkar’s life? Know why Congress is feeling the heat

New Delhi, May 2: It looks like Sunanda Pushkar's murder mystery will continue to haunt Congress in coming days. Reportedly, the party has expressed its concern about the bilingual movie ‘Game' allegedly based on Pushkar's tragic death.

According to a India Today report, Congress is wary about the movie and has been enquiring regarding the same with the director of the movie.

Manisha Koirala starrer movie is being directed by veteran director AMR Ramesh who is known for making movies on real-life incidents.

In past, Ramesh has made many controversial movies including Attahasa about dreaded brigand Veerappan and Cyanide based on the killer of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

It is being said that the party is worried that movie might sully its image which has already hit the nadir. At a time when party is already on the slippery wicket, any such move will add to its cup of woes.

Ramesh has confirmed that some Congress leaders including south superstar Khushboo are also enquiring about the plot of the movie from technicians and other crew members. But the director seems to be in no mood to reveal the deep secret.

When asked about the whole issue, party leader M Ramachandrappa was quoted as saying in a India Today report, "It is common for the film industry to exploit such topics for commercial gains. I am told the movie has not yet completed shooting. Nevertheless, if the movie is portraying any of our leader, we will tackle the issue appropriately through the right forum".

Earlier, at the launch of the movie, Ramesh reportedly had said that his movie will be a murder mystery, based on a VIP. Apparently, the rumour that movie will be based on Sunanda Pushkar's tragic death gained ground from there only.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda was found dead in New Delhi's hotel room on January 17, 2014. Since then various theories came to fore, but the death mystery has yet not been resolved.
