Champai Soren assumed the role of Chief Minister following Hemant Soren's resignation ahead of an arrest by the Enforcement Directorate. The swearing-in ceremony, delayed by two days, raised suspicions of intentional postponement to allow potential BJP poaching of MLAs.

  • Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed gratitude for the Governor's cooperation in facilitating the oath-taking ceremony. He confirmed that the alliance would face a floor test in the Assembly on February 5, and until then, all MLAs would remain in a secured location.
