Vijayawada Shocker: Father gives drugs, rapes daughter repeatedly

Vijayawada, Nov 2: A 42-year-old man allegedly raped his 17-year-old daughter repeatedly for a year. The shocking crime came into notice when the victim and her mother gathered courage to go to police against the accused.

It has been reported that the accused is an auto-rickshaw driver in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He reportedly had begun sexually assaulting his daughter as a punishment.

He reportedly was disturbed to know that his daughter was in a relationship with a boy from their locality. Failing to cope up with the news, he decided to punish his daughter.

According to sources, the accused allegedly had begun to give drugs, suspected to sleeping pills, to his wife and daughter. He used to pretend that he was giving iron tablets. Then taking advantage of their helpless conditions, the man reportedly raped her.

The same incident continued for one year. However, the victim, who was initially unaware of what was happening to her due to lack of consciousness, recently came to know that she was being sexually assaulted. After she told her mother, both approached Nunna rural police station and lodged a complaint against the man.

Police registered a case of rape as Government General Hospital in Vijayawada confirmed that the girl was sexually assaulted. Following the medical test report, police registered the case under IPC Section 376.

Meanwhile, ACP K Lavanya Lakshmi visited the victim at Nunna police station and spoke to her. Sources also informed that the accused was taken into custody by the police and is being interrogated.
