The police officials claim the case was solved within 24-hours after the crime was committed. After killing the victim, the father-son duo buried her body in a field two kms away from their home.
The police had recovered the body along with the murder weapon, stated a report. Both the culprits are currently lodged in a jail, added the report.
According to police, the girl was killed as she had left her home almost four months ago against the wishes of her family. The class 10 student wanted to pursue her studies, but her parents and brother opposed her decision forcing the victim to leave her home.
At a time when the Narendra Modi government is promoting Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save the girl child, teach the girl child), the murder of a teenage girl by her family members as she wanted to pursue her studies is indeed shocking.
It seems the nation is becoming more unsafe for girls in the recent times, especially in the wake of three horrific rape cases of teenage girls in Haryana.
One of them, a 15-year-old student was kidnapped, gang-raped and mutilated by her alleged oppressors.
