Fastag KYC Status Check Online: How To Update It Before January 31 Deadline

FASTag KYC update: If you're planning to use your vehicles on highways, here's a crucial update for you. To prevent any inconvenience, it's essential to ensure that your FASTag KYC is updated promptly. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that all FASTags with incomplete Know Your Customer (KYC) will be deactivated or blacklisted by banks after January 31, even if there's a sufficient balance. This measure is implemented to curb the issuance of multiple FASTags for a single vehicle, the distribution of FASTags without KYC verification, and the intentional non-fixing of FASTags on vehicle windscreens.

To update your KYC for FASTag, follow these steps:

Fastag KYC Update
  1. Visit the bank-linked FASTag website.
  2. Log in using your registered mobile number and enter the OTP received.
  3. Go to the "My Profile" section and click on the KYC tab.
  4. Fill in the necessary details, such as address proof, and click the submit button.
  5. Your KYC will be completed, and the KYC page will display your updated status.

  • Acceptable IDs for proof include Passport, Voter ID card, Aadhar card, driving license, or PAN card.

FASTag is an electronic toll collection system that simplifies toll tax payments at toll plazas while monitoring vehicles on highways. It uses RFID technology, attaching a tag to the vehicle's windscreen linked to a bank account or prepaid card. When a FASTag-equipped vehicle approaches a toll plaza, the scanner recognizes the tag and deducts the toll amount from the linked account or card.
