FASTag Annual Pass Launching August 15: Check Eligibility, Price, and How to Apply

The eagerly awaited FASTag Annual Pass is set to be available to users this August. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has listed it on their official website, providing details about eligibility, benefits, and the application process. However, users must complete their KYC by August 15 to take advantage of this offer.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) will launch the FASTag annual pass nationwide on August 15. This initiative aims to make highway travel more cost-effective and efficient for private vehicle owners across the country.

FASTag Annual Pass Cost and Validity

Priced at Rs 3,000, the FASTag annual pass offers validity for either one year or up to 200 trips, whichever comes first. This pass is designed to ease frequent toll payments and streamline regular highway travel.

Each FASTag is specific to a single vehicle, as per NHAI regulations. Using a FASTag on a different vehicle than the one it is registered with is against the rules and can result in significant penalties.
Eligibility for Private Vehicles

The annual pass applies exclusively to private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. It cannot be used for commercial vehicles and is valid only on designated National Highways and Expressways.

Users can activate the annual pass through the Rajmarg Yatra app or NHAI's official website. Once activated, renewing the pass online becomes convenient without needing a visit to any toll plaza.

No New FASTag Required

There is no need to purchase a new FASTag for this annual pass. Users can activate it on their existing FASTag issued by banks or platforms such as Paytm, ICICI Bank, or HDFC Bank.

The annual pass remains non-transferable and valid solely for the vehicle with which the FASTag is associated. If used on another vehicle, it will be deactivated immediately and become unusable.

This initiative promises smoother travel experiences while reducing costs for frequent highway commuters in India. With its launch just around the corner, private vehicle owners are encouraged to prepare accordingly.
