Farmers Protest: Internet Services Snapped In Haryana's 7 Districts From Feb 11 To 13

Farmers Protest: To stop protesting farmers, who have announced to gather and march to Delhi on February 13, Haryana's Manohar Lal Khattar Government on Saturday snapped mobile internet services, bulk SMS, and all dongle services in several districts including Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa. The decision to suspend internet services was taken to control the spread of fake or provocative messages.

The Internet shut order comes into effect from February 11, Sunday, 6:00 am onwards till February 13, Tuesday, 11:59 pm.

However, voice call services will continue to help people connect.

According to the reports, the state government has ordered sealing borders to stop farmers coming from Punjab to Haryana. Punjab-Haryana borders in Ambala, Jind, and Fatehabad districts have been heavily barricaded.

Talking to the media, SHO Joginder Singh said, "Barricading is being done here so that they can't advance any further. Three-layer barricading is being done."

Farmers are planning a 'Delhi Chalo' march on February 13 to urge the Centre to address their diverse demands.

Taking cognizance of the situation, and announced march, the Haryana Police issued a traffic advisory, advising commuters to restrict travel on the main roads of the state to essential situations on February 13.

It is expected that more than 200 farmers of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha will gather and march toward the national capital along with their tractors and trollies. The farmers fronts have announced a 'Delhi Chalo' march to push the Centre to meet various demands, such as the implementation of a law ensuring a minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
