Farmer's Protest: Delhi Traffic Advisory For Today; Check Routes To Save Your Time
The day after farmers started their 'Chalo Delhi' protest, the Delhi Police released a new traffic advisory for February 14.
On Tuesday, farmers walking towards Delhi faced problems at the border between Punjab and Haryana. They met with tear gas, water cannons, and police hitting them with batons at two spots. The fights started when the protesters tried to break through several barricades set up by the police to stop them from reaching Delhi.

Following this, security has been increased even more at many places in Delhi and nearby borders. Police teams and special force members are stationed at the Singhu border to keep things calm and orderly.
At Tikri, Singhu, and Ghazipur borders, there are now multiple layers of barriers, concrete blocks, checkpoints, spikes, and container walls set up. On Wednesday morning, more concrete was added between the slabs at Tikri Border to reinforce the setup for the second day.
The police has also sealed rural roads bordering Haryana to stop the protestors from entering Delhi. Traffic snarls are seen at the Ghazipur border, where security is further tightened.
In its advisory, Delhi police said, "Owing to various farmer organizations 'Agitation' started from today i.e. 13.02.2024, farmers from adjoining states may try to move towards Delhi by various means to participate in the above-said protest."
