Farmers in PM's model village too waiting for compensation; villagers unhappy with Modi
New Delhi, April 24: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi adopted Jayapur village in Varanasi under MP's Model Village Scheme, everyone thought that being PM's village it will get all the facilities.
As per reports, despite being PM's village, farmers of the village are still waiting for their compensation.
Most shockingly however the reality is far removed from the wishful thinking of farmers in Jayapur.
Farmers here who largely depend on wheat, mustard, potato and seasonal vegetables for their livelihood in rabi season are devastated due to 70-80 per cent losses in their produce. And what is worse is that no help is forthcoming."
PM Modi adopts Jayapur village, seeks end to female foeticide
The farmers of Jayapur are saying that whatever has happened is just on papers but nothing has happened on ground. they also complain and say that despite being PM's adopted village, no on e has come to see the farmers so far, no survey has been conducted of their fields .
"We are more angry with the PM than the state government since it is Modi who had adopted this village. Our expectations are completely from him. Had planted Apple sapling as per the new scheme but the plant went dry and now there is nothing," Surya Prasad Singh, former Pradhan of Jayapur village was quoted as saying in the report.
Not only farmers compensation, there are many more issues which are troubling the villagers. Farmers have also alleged that corruption in projects is taking place where influential locals close to Modi's representatives are getting making money by getting some work done in the village as per their wishes.
