Jaipur, Jan 13: In a suspected case of honour killing, a farmer allegedly murdered his 21-year-old daughter who was in a relationship with a youth from another community at Lakha-hakam village of Srigangangar district on Wednesday.
The accused, Narayan Jat (45), was arrested after he confessed to strangulating his daughter, Nandani, a senior police officer of Raisinghnagar police said.

The deceased wanted to marry the youth who belonged to another community and was pressurising her parents for the same, the officer said. The incident took place at about 7 AM when the accused's wife and son were also present in the house, he said.
Narayan was arrested under section 302 of IPC (murder), the officer said, but refused to comment on whether it was a case of honour killing.
