New Delhi, April 23: Congress workers on Thursday protested outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence here over the suicide by a farmer from Rajasthan during an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rally on Wednesday, officials said.

Nearly 100 workers protested outside Kejriwal's Civil Lines home, shouting slogans and waving banners that said AAP was responsible for farmer Gajendra's death.

"They kept continuing with their speeches even after the suicide," the workers said.

The protesters also burnt posters.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma told IANS that there were nearly 100 protesters.

"They are claiming that it was a conspiracy and are saying that the AAP leaders continued with their 'bhashan' even while the farmer was dying," he said.

Verma added that the area has been barricaded and all security measures were being taken.

Gajendra Singh, the farmer, hanged himself from a tree at AAP's farmers' rally here on Wednesday.

He was declared brought dead at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
