Faridabad Woman Murdered, Buried Outside Home By In-Laws In Chilling Cover-Up; Body Exhumed After 2 Months
In a horrifying incident from Faridabad, Haryana, a woman was allegedly murdered and secretly buried by her in-laws just outside their home - all while pretending she had gone missing.
For nearly two months, the family successfully concealed both the crime and the body, until the victim's father grew suspicious of a recently filled pit outside the house.

Four members of the family, including the husband, are now in police custody. The woman's body has been exhumed and a post-mortem examination has been carried out.
As reported by Hindustan Times, 25-year-old Tannu Rajput was found buried in a soak pit dug in front of her marital residence in Roshan Nagar, Palla.
The police recovered her remains from a pit nearly 8 to 10 feet deep, excavated from beneath the road outside the family's three-storey house.
Tannu, originally from Khera village in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district, married Arun Singh, 28, in 2023. She was reported missing on 25 April, with her husband lodging a complaint at Palla police station.
He claimed she was intellectually challenged and had disappeared the day before. However, police later determined that this was a fabricated story to cover up her murder.
Chilling details from the case:
1. Family's Doubts: When police contacted Tannu's family during the missing person investigation, they immediately cast doubt on Arun Singh's story, firmly rejecting the idea that she had eloped. They insisted Tannu would never leave without informing anyone and feared the worst - that she had been silenced.
2. The Breakthrough: For weeks, the investigation yielded no concrete leads. Then, on Friday, police took Arun Singh's father, Bhoop Singh, 50, in for questioning. After several hours of interrogation, he allegedly confessed that Tannu had been murdered and buried right outside the home under the cover of darkness.
3. The Discovery: A JCB machine was summoned. As it tore into the earth, Tannu's distraught family looked on. Roughly eight feet down, her body was discovered. Her clothes served as the painful, final confirmation for relatives who had refused to give up hope.
4. Post-Mortem: An autopsy was carried out at Badshah Khan Civil Hospital by a medical board. The report is expected to be released the following week.
5. Calculated Deception: Initial investigations suggest the murder was premeditated. The in-laws allegedly created a false narrative, telling neighbours they were digging a soak pit to prevent waterlogging - when in reality, they were preparing her grave.
6. Concealing the Crime: On the night of the murder, once the street had quietened down, they buried Tannu's body in the pit and used an earthmover to cover it - deliberately avoiding hired labour to ensure the secret stayed within the family.
7. The Wedding Distraction: Neighbours recalled a wedding taking place on the street on 22 April. The next day, the family began digging outside their home using machinery. They even covered the pit with plastic sheets, claiming it was to prevent accidents.
8. Official Statement: Inspector Satya Parkash, SHO of Palla police station, said, "The pit was originally dug in April for a sewer connection, as the area lacks formal water or drainage infrastructure. The family filled it with sand, and after committing the murder, buried her body there under cover of darkness. None of the neighbours had any idea about what had happened."
