Facing traffic woes, remember 8750871493: Delhi cops now watching you through WhatsApp

Despite various rules and regulations, the traffic is a big problem in capital, and commoners face the consequences every other day. Students, office staffs, everyone reach their destination late and reason being the same-heavy and unmanned Delhi traffic.
But hopefully that will end now. After debuting on social media tool I.e facebook and twitter some times back, the Delhi traffic police now have joined WhatsApp group through number 8750871493.
The cops believe that this new tool will help Delhiites in registering their complaint easily. Reportedly, soon after the launch of this new tool, the police have got more than 200 complaints.
When asked about this new makeover strategy, Muktesh Chander who is special commissioner of traffic police said, "Now everyone uses a smart phone and WhatsApp has become an important medium to connect with each other. We have had this provision earlier as well but this number will be dedicated for traffic-related complaints alone"
To get better benefit of provision, the complainant has to explain nature of offenses related with traffic management I.e violation of norms on road, unauthorized parking, overcharging, refusal or misbehaviour by auto or taxi drivers, faulty traffic signals etc. One can upload photo related with offence with complainant name and place where that occurred.
Reiterating their stand that action will be prompt and quick, commissioner of traffic police further said, "We are trying to make our presence on the social media felt and since this is a quicker medium, we assure people that prompt action will be taken by our officials based on the complaints we receive".
While launching anti-corruption helpline 9910641064, the city traffic police also urged commoner to use official helpline number 1095 and its face book page more often.
