Eyes on cabinet berth, Chandrababu Naidu's son files nomination for MLC seat

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh filed nomination for the MLC elections on Monday. The general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party is likely to be inducted into the cabinet after MLC polls scheduled on March 20. Come Ugadi and Lokesh in all likelihood will be part of his father's cabinet. His name, along with four others were shortlisted for the candidature on Sunday night.

In a seasoned politician's style, Lokesh garlanded the statue of N T Ramarao at Venkatapalem and filed his nomination at an 'auspicious time' of 10.39 AM. It is a given that his election into the legislative council of Andhra Pradesh will be unanimous followed by an induction into the cabinet on March 28. In a late night statement on Sunday, Chandrababu Naidu announced the party's decision to field five candidates including Lokesh for the legislative council election. The name list also included Batchula Arjunudu from Krishna district, Dokka Manikya Varaprasad from Guntur, Karanam Balaram and Pothula Sunitha from Prakasam.

TDP has decided to filed only five candidates for the seven vacant seats under the MLA quota while Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress is fielding two candidates.
