Extradition requests for 110 fugitives made by India

62 criminal fugitives, including those wanted for crimes related to terrorism, have been successfully brought back to Indian since 2002, Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said

New Delhi, Dec 15: India's requests for extradition of 110 fugitives are at various stages of execution in various countries, government said today.

The US, UAE, the UK, Canada, Germany, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran, Singapore, Australia, Nigeria, Denmark, South Africa and France are among the 47 countries with which India has inked the treaty till date, Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.

India seeks extradition of 110 fugitives

India has also entered into extradition arrangements with nine more countries, he said.

"We have sought extradition of fugitives who are wanted for crimes in India from foreign countries. 110 such requests for extradition of fugitives who are wanted in India are at various stages of execution with various foreign countries.

"As per available information, 62 criminal fugitives, including those wanted for crimes related to terrorism, have been successfully brought back to Indian since 2002," the minister said.
