Exit polls can be telecast after 5.30 pm on March 9: EC
According to election laws, exit polls can be telecast half-an-hour after the end of polling in all the phases and states.
The Election Commission has prohibited the exit polls for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections until 5:30 pm on March 9, following the demise of candidates of the Samajwadi Party candidate from the Alapur seat and Karnaprayag in Uttarakhand.
The period of prohibition for exit according to an earlier EC notofication in UP was to end on Wednesday. The EC has said that the exit polls will be telecast after polling ends in these two constituencies.

Results of the 403 state assembly seats would be announced on March 11.
