US Tariffs Impact: Excise Duty On Petrol And Diesel Hiked By Rs 2
As an impact of global tariffs, the Centre on Monday announced to hike excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2. It is expected that prices for petrol and diesel will now shoot up and affect the pocket of common man.
Though, a few reports have claimed that excise duty hike will be beared by oil companies and won't pass it to consumers.
The latest tax adjustment brings the excise duty on petrol to Rs 13 per litre and on diesel to Rs 10 per litre.
Reacting to the Centre's latest move, social media users were quick to take a dig, stating crude oil prices are going down across the globe, but the Indian government is busy in adding taxes.
