Bihar's Science & Tech Dept Wins IIT Bombay's Excellence in Education Award
The Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education in Bihar has been awarded the Excellence in Technology-Driven Education Award by IIT Bombay for its innovative educational initiatives aimed at enhancing student employability.
The Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Government of Bihar, has been awarded the prestigious "Excellence in Technology-Driven Education Award" by Spoken Tutorial, IIT Bombay. The esteemed recognition was presented today, July 17, 2025, on the occasion of Open Source GIS Day & National Geospatial Awards 2025, held at the Victor Menezes Convention Centre, IIT Bombay.

This award acknowledges the Department's outstanding contributions and pioneering efforts in leveraging technology to transform and enhance the educational landscape in Bihar, with a strong focus on enhancing the competency and employability of its engineering and polytechnic students. This accolade underscores the Department's commitment to integrating innovative technological solutions into its educational programs, thereby fostering a more dynamic and accessible learning environment for the technical students.
Beyond the impactful Spoken Tutorial initiative, the Department has proactively adopted a multifaceted approach to student skill development. It has facilitated access to a wide array of online courses and digital training platforms, including MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), Cisco Networking Academy programs, NPTEL courses, and various industry-relevant digital training modules. These initiatives are designed to equip students with cutting-edge skills in emerging technologies, coding, data science, cybersecurity, and advanced engineering concepts, ensuring they are industry-ready upon graduation.
The "Excellence in Technology-Driven Education Award" was presented by Padma Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), a testament to the significance and impact of the Department's initiatives. Dr. Md. Atiqur Rehman, Assistant Director(T) representing the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Government of Bihar, graciously received the award on behalf of the department.
