Ex-Congressmen run the BJP government in Manipur

The hit is more personal for Congress leader and former Chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh simply because Biren Singh walked out of the Congress revolting against him.

Imphal, March 15: The BJP is all set to form its first-ever government in Manipur as Nongthombam Biren Singh is all set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister. While Biren was chosen the leader of the legislative party in Manipur, the man behind the BJP's success in consolidating the magic number to form the government was undoubtedly Himanta Biswa Sarma . The health and education minister of Assam emerged the key player in ensuring BJP its first government in Manipur.

Apart from the fact that one is the king and the other a king-maker among the two leaders, the fact that both are former Congressmen unites them. Until 2015, Himanta Biswas was a Congress man and N Biren Singh was with the Congress till 2016. Both, ex-Congressmen who quit the party over differences and with the kind of politicking they have done in the last 5 days, the Congress should have been regretting letting both these leaders go.
