Espionage: Who exactly is Damini McNaught?

New Delhi, Dec 31: Damini McNaught sounds like a strange name. But for a fact it is a fake name. A beautiful woman if her facebook profile picture is to be believed, she speaks with a heavy British accent.

Incidentally, she is the lady who honey trapped Ranjit K K the former Indian Air Force Personnel. The question now is who is the real Damini Mcnaught? She could be anybody or nobody. It was a classic case of honey trapping an officer.

She spoke with Ranjit using the voice over internet protocol and investigators say that they have zeroed in on the location. It could be either Muzzafarabad or Faridkot and we will make things clear in the next couple of days, a Delhi police official informed OneIndia.

Who is Damini?

The lady has clearly used a fake name and photograph. It is clear that she is part of the Faridkot wing of the ISI from where all the honey traps are laid. When she conversed with Ranjit, she lured him in by taking dirty. She kept a watch on the profiles of several officials and a couple of months back she sent a friend request to Ranjit, which was accepted.

Initially there were chats on the messenger and later they used the voice over internet protocol to speak. Not once did Ranjit realise that she was a ISI agent. She had a very heavy British accent and this eradicated all his doubts.

Officials say that she is part of the team that sets honey traps on Indian officers. Damini used her charm to lure Ranjit and it is alleged that he had shared crucial information with the lady. Further the probe also suggests that this lady may not even be British.

Investigators say that she may be from Kashmir or Pakistan. However, it is clear that she had undergone accent training as is the case in most of the persons recruited into the Faridkot wing of the ISI.

All details are being ascertained, but at the moment the probe is focused on the sort of information that Ranjit leaked out, the officer also adds.
