E S L Narasimhan sworn in as Governor of Telangana

Hyderabad, Jun 2: Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan was today sworn in as the Governor of Telangana, the country's 29th state. Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta administered the oath to Narasimhan, who will be the common Governor to Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh.

Hyderabad will be the joint capital of Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh.

Born in 1946, Ekkadu Srinivasan Lakshminarasimhan has been the Governor of Andhra Pradesh since 2009. Previously, he was appointed the director of the Intelligence Bureau until 2006. He was also the Governor of Chhattisgarh from 2007 to 2010.

He is a graduate in Physics from the University of Madras. He continued his post-graduate studies in political science and law.

After completing his studies at the National Defence College in New Delhi, he joined the Indian Police Service.

He served as the First Secretary in the Moscow Embassy from 1981 to 1984. He is highly respected police official.
