Bengaluru, Aug 21: It is very important to have a point of view for entrepreneurs to be successful, Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani said at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Leapfrog summit here on Friday.

"The fact is that future is changing much more rapidly than ever before, you should anticipate the future," Nilekani, chief advisor of TiE Leapfrog, said. In the next five to 10 years, technological trends will reshape our world and transform the way to work, play and live, he added.

TiE Leapfrog aims to bridge the gaps existing in the start-up ecosystem to further entrepreneurship in India.

"TiE Leapfrog 2015 aims to engage the top entrepreneurial minds, academics and government officials, the stakeholders invested in the India of tomorrow.

"Key talking points such as ways to re-imagine the future, forecast potential and overcome challenges and how mega trends will impact industries like financial services retail and healthcare," Nilekani said.

Former Infosys executive Mohandas Pai said: "Our ambition is to have 100,000 start-ups in the next ten years, we want $500 bn value to be created and then three million people to be employed."

Pai exhorted that entrepreneurship and start-ups are going to be the biggest employment creators for the young people of India irrespective of whatever schemes and programmes the government comes up with.

Brand Bengaluru stole the limelight at the event for being the start-up capital of India. "We are blessed to be in Bengaluru, we hope to make Bengaluru the start-up capital of the world," Naganand Doraswamy, president, TiE Bangalore said.

Doraswamy highlighted that present day entrepreneurs don't have patience which has resulted in product development time reducing from 18-24 months to 18-24 weeks and finally to one month.

"Entrepreneurs want an answer immediately. The scene has changed completely and right now on a 16-fold fast forward mode," he added.

However, Pai had a world of caution for Bengaluru and highlighted that the city is lagging 15 years behind schedule and called for the community spirit to be revived.

The day-long event features panel discussions, presentations and speeches from leading startups founders and technology leaders like Sachin Bansal, co-founder Flipkart, Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder, Ola Cabs, Anil Shetty, CEO, Bankbazaar.com, Vijay Sekhar Sharma, founder, Paytm and others.
