Enrollment drive in Krishna for all students eligible to vote

Vijayawada, Nov 8: The Krishna district administration has taken up a special drive to enroll all eligible

before December-end in view of the general elections to be held next year.

Krishna district joint collector P Usha Kumari, during a review meeting with principals of educational institutions yesterday asked them to prepare a list of their students who will cross the age of 18 by December 31, 2013, to enroll them as new voters.

She asked the principals to nominate a lecturer to co-ordinate the enrollment programme with revenue officials. The enrollment forms will be supplied to all educational institutions soon. The joint collector also asked the principals to conduct awareness programmes among the students on the importance of enrolling as a voter and their privileges in a democracy.
