Enhanced thunderstorms likely to continue over several parts of India: IMD
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted enhanced thunderstorm activity likely to continue over the country till May 2.
Meanwhile, moderate to severe thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, gusty winds & hailstorm over Northwest, Central, East and southeast peninsular India during 01st-02nd May and decrease gradually thereafter.

Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Northwest India (Jammu region, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh on 01st & 02nd May) and decrease thereafter
Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over the southern part of India. ''Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over South India (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe) during 01st-03rd May and decrease thereafter,''the IMD said.
The weather agency has also issued warnings for heavy rainfall in various parts of North India including Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, over the next few days. In addition, a duststorm is expected at isolated locations in West Rajasthan on May 4th.
In South India, scattered/fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds (40-50 kmph) very likely over the region during next 4 days.
"Heavy to very Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema & Tamil Nadu on 01st May and isolated heavy rainfall over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala & Tamil Nadu during 01st-03rd May," the MeT Department stated.
In addition, hailstorm very likely at isolated places over Telangana on 01st & 02nd May.
