Engineer murdered wife, mother-in-law for harassment

, Nov 14: Unable to take the harassment meted out on him by his wife and her mother, Sarvanand (37) hacked to death both of them late on Wednesday night.

The incident took place at a house under Monda market police station limits in Secunderabad (Hyderabad). Sarvanand and his uncle killed Padmapriya and her mother Parmeswari and later surrendered to the police in the wee hours of Thursday.

Police said that the marital life of the couple took a disturbing turn when Sarvanand came to know of his wife's past marriage and divorce. A native of Bangalore, Padmapriya was living in his house with her mother, following a court order. The accused claimed that the duo were harassing him and unable to take it anymore, he planned their murder.
