Encounter Breaks Out Between Terrorists And Security Forces In Rajouri Forests

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Dorimal forest area of Rajouri on Saturday after security personnel launched a search operation following intelligence inputs about militant movement in the region.

Officials believe that at least two to three terrorists are currently trapped in the forest area, while a large-scale search operation is continuing to trace other possible militants hiding nearby.

The encounter has once again highlighted the ongoing anti-terror operations being carried out in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

How The Encounter Began

According to initial information, security agencies received specific intelligence regarding the movement of terrorists in the Dorimal forest region.

Following the alert, security forces launched a coordinated search operation in the dense forest area. During the operation, terrorists allegedly opened fire on the security personnel, leading to a gunfight between both sides.

Soon after the firing started, additional forces were reportedly rushed to the area to strengthen the operation and prevent the militants from escaping.

Terrorists Believed To Be Trapped

Officials suspect that at least two to three terrorists may be trapped inside the forest area.
Security personnel have reportedly cordoned off parts of the region and intensified combing operations to locate the militants.

The difficult forest terrain and dense vegetation are making the operation challenging for forces on the ground.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities or affiliations of the suspected terrorists.

Security Operations Continue In Jammu And Kashmir

The latest encounter comes amid continued anti-terror operations across Jammu and Kashmir. Security agencies, including the Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police, have been conducting regular operations to track militant activities in forest and border regions.

In recent years, forces have focused heavily on dismantling terror networks operating in remote areas of the Union Territory.

Earlier Kishtwar Terror Network Was Eliminated

Earlier this year, the White Knight Corps had announced a major success in anti-terror operations in the Kishtwar region. In February, the Indian Army stated that after nearly 326 days of operations, the terror network operating in Kishtwar had been eliminated.

The White Knight Corps had shared photographs of seven terrorists linked to the network and said one of the key militants killed was Jaish commander Saifullah, who was allegedly the mastermind behind terror activities in the region.

According to the Army, the operation was carried out jointly with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and intelligence agencies.

Focus On Preventing Infiltration And Militancy

Security forces continue to maintain a high alert in sensitive forest and border areas of Jammu and Kashmir to prevent infiltration and militant movement.

Operations in forest regions such as Rajouri and Poonch are considered especially

important because militants often use dense terrain to hide and move between locations.
Officials said the current operation in Rajouri is still ongoing, and more details are expected after the search mission is completed.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in nearby areas as forces continue efforts to eliminate terrorist threats in the region.
