Haryana Government Rolls Out Five Major Plans For Women's Development

The Haryana Government has taken many steps for women's development in recent years. These steps focus on education, health, and security. Several plans promote women's entrepreneurship and skills. This article mentions five major plans by the Haryana government for women's development.

Positive results have been seen from these plans recently. The plans are Ladli Samajik Suraksha Bhatta, Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Scheme, Haryana Mahila Samridhi Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Mahila Shramik Samman Yojana, and Widow Pension Scheme. The Haryana Government also contributes to the Pradhan Mantri Matri Vandana Yojana.

Haryana s Five Plans for Women s Empowerment

Ladli Samajik Suraksha Bhatta started in 2006 to balance the sex ratio in the state. Under this scheme, Rs 2,750 per month is given to families with girl children and infants. Permanent resident women or girls of Haryana from rural and urban areas are covered. They get a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh through banks.

The benefit is given to those whose annual income is not more than Rs 5 lakhs and age is between 18 to 60 years. The Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Scheme provides Rs 51,000 to girls who have become orphans due to COVID-19 for their marriage. The amount is given at the time of marriage along with interest.

Mukhya Mantri Mahila Shramik Samman Yojana offers financial assistance of Rs 51,000 to registered women workers. This money is for buying sarees, suits, slippers, raincoats, umbrellas, rubber mattresses, kitchen utensils, and sanitary napkins at the time of membership renewal every year.

Under the Haryana Mahila Samridhi Yojana, the government provides a loan of Rs 60,000 at a rate of 5 percent to women who want to start self-employment. This scheme is for Scheduled Caste women. The Widow Pension Scheme was implemented in 2014.

According to the eligibility standards in the scheme rules, destitute or deserted women and widows aged 18 years or above are eligible for a monthly pension of Rs 1,800. Applications for this scheme can be made through e-Disha or Atal Sewa Kendra.
