Emirates flight to Hyderabad diverted due to fog

Hyderabad, Nov 20: Emirates flight from Dubai to Hyderabad was diverted to Chennai on Thursday due to fog at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

"EK 524 which was scheduled to land at Hyderabad at 3.30 a.m. was diverted to Chennai," an airport official told IANS.

The flight later returned to Hyderabad and landed at 6.24 a.m.

The poor visibility due to dense fog also delayed departure of some domestic flights. However, there were no cancellations.

The airport is located at Shamsabad, about 30 km from the city.
