Elon Musk Wishes Modi On Electoral Win, PM-Designate Responds

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed that India's stable democratic polity and talented youth are key factors in providing a safe business environment for all partners.

This statement was in response to wish from billionaire Tesla chief Elon Musk, who praised PM Modi on his re-election for a record third term.

Musk posted on X, "Congratulations @narendramodi on your victory in the world's largest democratic elections! Looking forward to my companies doing exciting work in India."

"Appreciate your greetings @elonmusk. The talented Indian youth, our demography, predictable policies and stable democratic polity will continue to provide the business environment for all our partners," PM Modi replied.

Musk also revealed that his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX, are planning to invest in India soon.

Acknowledging Musk's greetings on X, PM Modi expressed his appreciation. Musk had originally planned to visit India on April 21 and 22 to meet with Modi but postponed the visit due to professional commitments. However, he assured that he looks forward to visiting the country later this year.

In a previous meeting with PM Modi in June 2023 in the US, Musk conveyed optimism about Tesla's entry into the Indian market and the launch of Starlink - his satellite internet service.

Tesla is also considering setting up a manufacturing unit in India, which would involve substantial investments. In 2023, Tesla had requested the Indian government to reduce import duties on its vehicles to facilitate its entry into the market.
