Election Shocker: Ghulam Nabi Azad faces Identity trouble during vote

Ghulam Nabi Azad
Jammu, April 10: Congress leader and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad might have faced one of the most embarrassing situations of his life while casting his vote in Jammu on Thursday, April 10. The Union Minister faced identity trouble at poll booth.

According to sources, when Azad asked for his ballot, the Presiding Officer insisted on producing proof of the voter's identity. The officer, however, made it clear Azad that he knew him by face but needed to be sure of his being a registered voter at Jogigate-F polling station.

As Azad was not carrying his photo identity card or the Electors Photo Identity Card, Congress candidate Madan Lal Sharma's polling agents gave a verbal undertaking in Azad's favour. None of the candidates' agents offered objection and Azad exercised his franchise.
