Election Confusion: Both Narendra Modi, Shivraj Singh bid for Advani

Poll: Both Modi, Chouhan bid for Advani
New Delhi, March 19: One of the crucial parliamentary meetings of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is underway in New Delhi on Wednesday, March 19. The parliamentary board of the party is expected to take decision over veteran BJP leader LK Advani's candidature. According to sources, BJP is currently confused as both Narendra Modi and Shivraj Singh Chouhan urge Advani to contest from their respective states.

While Chouhan urged Advani to contest upcoming Lok Sabha election from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Modi wants the veteran leader to contest from Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Meanwhile, sources informed that BJP President Rajnath Singh asked Gujarat BJP to suggest any name for Gandhinagar seat as Advani showed his interest to contest from Bhopal. The final decision is likely to be announced shortly.

Earlier it was reported that both Modi and Chouhan, the two most successful chief ministers from BJP, called the veteran leader and urged him to contest from Gandhinagar and Bhopal respectively.

The BJP Parliamentary Board is also likely to announce the second seat from which Modi will contest. The party has finalised Varanasi as the first place and the second place is likely to be in Gujarat.

Earlier it was reported that Gujarat unit wants Narendra Modi to contest from either Ahmedabad East or Surat. "The people and the party here wants that Modiji must be made to contest from Gujarat," the state BJP spokesperson Vijay Rupani said.
