Elderly Woman Found Dead in Gwalior: Family Alleges Rape and Murder Amid Ongoing Investigation
A tragic incident has unfolded in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where a 65-year-old woman was discovered dead in her home. Her family has raised allegations of rape, murder, and theft. According to a senior police official, blood stains were present on her clothing, and valuables such as gold and cash were missing. However, confirmation of rape awaits the post-mortem report.

The woman's body was found on Sunday night in a village located 50 kilometres from the district headquarters. Initially, her family believed she had died naturally until they noticed strangulation marks near her throat and blood stains on her private parts and clothes. These discoveries were made just before her final rites were to be conducted.
Police Investigation Underway
The family reported that the woman's gold mangalsutra and some money kept in the house were missing. They have filed a police complaint regarding these suspicions. Bhitarwar Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Jitendra Nagaich confirmed the presence of blood stains on her clothes and the missing jewellery and cash.
Neighbours played a crucial role in uncovering the situation. They noticed the house door was open but heard no sound or activity inside. Upon entering, they found the woman deceased and promptly informed the police. The SDOP stated that further investigation is ongoing to uncover more details about this case.
The woman was alone at home as her husband had been working in the fields for three consecutive days. The family's concerns about rape and murder will be addressed once the post-mortem results are available, according to SDOP Nagaich. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
