Bihar News: DJ Ban and Mandatory Licenses for Processions; Tight Security for Upcoming Festivals and Pitripaksh Fair: ADG (Law & Order)

Bihar has established comprehensive security measures for the upcoming festivals of Ganesh Chaturthi, Milad-Un-Nabi, Anant Chaturdashi, and Vishwakarma Puja. Authorities will monitor processions and ensure public safety.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the state in view of upcoming festivals of Ganesh Chaturthi, Milad-Un-Nabi, Anant Chaturdashi & Vishwakarma Puja.

Adequate security arrangements have been made in view of Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhamma, which will be celebrated tomorrow (Sep 5) while Anant Chaturdashi and Vishwakarma Puja will be held on on September 6 and 17, 2025.

"Obtaining a license from the local administration will be mandatory for taking out any procession. On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, there is the tradition of immersing the Ganesh idol. No DJ will be allowed to be played during procession as there will be a complete ban on DJs during the period, ADG (Law & Order) Pankaj Kumar Darad said at a press conference held at the Police Headquarters here.

Additional security forces have been deployed in all districts, he added. The districts have been directed to hold a meeting of the peace committee before allowing any immersion or procession, he said adding that the route must be determined and physically verified where processions have to be taken out.

All sensitive locations should be identified, and additional security forces must be deployed there, he said adding that videography of all processions must be carried out. Divers must be deployed on the river ghats designated for idol immersion.

ADG Darad said that the control room will be functional round the clock during the puja right from district to police headquarters level. Updated report will be sought at the interval of four hours from districts to police headquarters level so that proper assessment of situation could be made.

All districts have been instructed to keep a constant watch on all sorts of rumours. Besides, they have also been directed to monitor social media, Darad said adding that preventive action has been taken against a large number of suspicious individuals.

Additional forces have been deployed in view of Pitripaksha fair which is being held in Gaya from September 6 to 21, ADG said and added that 395 police officials, 1600 constables, and 800 home guards have been deployed.

Additionally, 5 companies of armed forces, 2 mounted police troops, 2 tear gas squads, 1 riot control company from the regional reserve, and 2 bomb disposal squads, among others, have also been deployed, he added. Police help desks will be set up at key locations such as the Gaya bus stand, railway station, and other important areas to provide proper assistance to visitors coming from outside.
