Eknath Shinde Hits Back At Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray Over 'Neech' Remark

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The battle of Maharashtra is intensifying day by day, especially between Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) fractions. A day after former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's son and young leader Aditya Thackeray targetted CM Eknath Shinde calling him 'neech' (low standard), Maharashtra Chief Minister has now retaliated saying the royal family could not digest that a farmer's son, a common labourer become the chief minister of Maharashtra.

Addressing a public rally in Amravati's Buldhana, CM Shinde slammed the Opposition calling the derogatory remark as an insult to all the farmers, and their hard-working sons. He also added that society will never forgive Thackeray father and son for insulting the section of society from which he came.

"Yesterday he said that Eknath Shinde is "neech". You abuse me by calling me "neech". If a farmer's son, a common labourer becomes the chief minister then you don't like it, you are unable to digest it," Chief Minister said.

He also expressed faith in his supporters saying he will not answer the arrogant father and son, voters will answer them through the ballot box on April 26. Chief Minister urged the people of Buldhana to vote, support, and elect his party candidate for better development.

In the evening, CM Shinde slammed the father-son duo, through a post in Marathi on micro-blogging site X, saying 'baap ek numbari ani beta 10 numbari ahet' (the son is a bigger thief than his father).

"In Ubatha, 'the son is a bigger thief than his father'. Aditya Thackeray referred to me as 'neech' (despicable). He could not bear that the son of a common farmer became the chief minister. They have insulted not me, but the poor, the farmers, mothers and sisters, and my community," CM's post read.
