Significance and Observance of Eid-ul-Fitr
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated globally on varying days based on the crescent moon's sighting, which signals Shawwal month's start in the lunar Islamic calendar. The festival is seen as a time for brotherhood and harmony. Imam Ahmad expressed hopes for continued prosperity and love in these values during this occasion.
Shahi Jama Masjid Imam Syed Shaban Bukhari shared a video on social media confirming that the Shawwal moon was seen in various parts of the country on Sunday. Therefore, it was declared that Eid-ul-Fitr would be observed on Monday.
Messages of Unity and Reflection
Maulana Arshad Madani, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, extended Eid greetings via Facebook. He expressed his hope that Allah would use this Eid to eliminate differences and foster tolerance and love among people. This year, Ramzan lasted 29 days compared to last year's 30 days.
