Significance and Observance of Eid-ul-Fitr

Messages of Unity and Reflection

Maulana Arshad Madani, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, extended Eid greetings via Facebook. He expressed his hope that Allah would use this Eid to eliminate differences and foster tolerance and love among people. This year, Ramzan lasted 29 days compared to last year's 30 days.

The Islamic calendar dictates that months can have either 29 or 30 days depending on moon sightings. During Ramzan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset without consuming food or drink.
