Eid Date 2025: March 31 or April 1? Shawwal Crescent Moon Sighting to Decide Eid-ul-Fitr 2025!

As Ramadan nears its end, the big question remains-When will Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 be celebrated? The answer, as always, depends on the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon, leaving millions of devotees across the world in suspense.

The Date Dilemma: March 31 or April 1?

Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 date

Muslims across India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh will be scanning the skies on March 30, 2025 (Sunday), hoping to spot the crescent moon. If the moon is visible, Eid will be celebrated the next day on March 31 (Monday). If not, Ramadan will extend to 30 days, and Eid will be observed on April 1 (Tuesday).

Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries where Ramadan began a day earlier, the search for the crescent moon will take place on March 29 (Saturday). If spotted, Eid will be marked on March 30 (Sunday); otherwise, it will fall on March 31 (Monday).

Festivities on Hold Until the Moon Appears!

From grand feasts to community prayers, Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the most awaited Islamic festivals. However, the uncertainty surrounding the moon sighting means travel plans, holiday leaves, and celebrations remain on standby. The UAE has already announced March 30 to April 1 as public holidays, subject to moon sighting confirmation.

With just days to go, anticipation is at its peak. Will Eid 2025 be on March 31 or stretch to April 1? Only the Shawwal crescent moon holds the answer!
