Eid being celebrated across Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow, Sep 13 The Eid is being celebrated across Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, and senior political leaders, including Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, have joined in and greeted the Muslim community.

Thousands of Muslims attended the Namaz and did the traditional 'qurbani' (sacrifice) of goats in the state.
State Governor Ram Naik, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati, state's Congress unit chief Raj Babbar, Congress's chief ministerial candidate Sheila Dikshit also extended their greetings to the people on Eid-ul-Adha.
Security has been heightened in sensitive places like Moradabad, Agra, Bijnor, Firozabad, Lucknow and Kanpur to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festival.
