ED Searches Premises Linked to 'Ponniyin Selvan' Makers

The Enforcement Directorate is carrying out searches at the premises of Lyca Productions in Chennai on Tuesday, according to a report in NDTV.

Lyca Productions had recently produced Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' series.

The report claims that the searches are being carried out in eight premises linked to Lyca Productions in Chennai.

Lyca Productions, established by Subaskaran Allirajah, is one of the leading production houses in Kollywood. It entered the Tamil film industry with Vijay and Samantha's blockbuster film 'Kaththi' in 2014.

Since then, it has been associated with Kollywood by producing and distributing movies.

'Yaman', 'Kolamavu Kokila', 'Vada Chennai', '2.0', 'Darbar' and 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' are some of the notable movies that it has produced.

However, there was no immediate response from the production company regarding the raids.

Meanwhile, the CBI raids underway at nine locations in Bihar's Patna and Arrah related to RJD MLA Kiran Devi and former RJD MLA Arun Yadav along with raids at locations related to a man, Prem Chand Gupta in Noida, Delhi and Gurugram, in the land-for-job case.

Kiran Devi, wife of former RJD MLA leader Arun Yadav is considered a close aide of RJD chief Lalu Prasad.

The land-for-job scam occurred in the rail railway recruitment processes when Lalu Prasad was the Railways Minister from 2004 to 2009.
