Earthquake Of Magnitude 5.6 Hits Nepal; Strong Tremors Felt Across Delhi-NCR
Strong earthquake tremors rattled Delhi on Monday, sending shockwaves through the city and its residents. The earthquake that shook Delhi had a magnitude of 5.6, originating from Nepal and reaching a depth of 10 kilometers.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake of Magnitude -5.6 occurred at 16.16:40 IST in Nepal.

Within the span of three days, Nepal experienced its second earthquake. Just days earlier, a devastating 6.4 magnitude earthquake, the most severe since 2015, rocked Nepal, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 157 lives and leaving more than 150 individuals wounded. The tremors wreaked havoc on hundreds of homes in the remote mountainous areas of the Himalayan nation.
Delhi, situated in a seismically active zone, has been grappling with the challenge of earthquake preparedness for some time. Efforts have been made to raise awareness about safety measures and enhance building codes to withstand potential seismic events.
On October 15, Delhi was suddenly jolted as the ground beneath its millions of residents' feet trembled, sparking alarm and uncertainty throughout the city. Reports indicated that an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 3.1 originated approximately 9 kilometers from Faridabad, Haryana, at precisely 4:08 pm.
Just a few days earlier, on October 3, the entire Delhi-NCR region, along with various parts of northern India, felt powerful tremors from a 6.2 magnitude earthquake that had its epicenter in the Talkot region of Bajhang district, located 700 kilometers west of Kathmandu, Nepal. This earthquake occurred at precisely 2:40 p.m., as reported by the National Seismological Centre.
