Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 magnitude hits Nepal, tremor felt near Delhi-NCR
An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 struck Nepal on Wednesday.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit Bajura, Nepal around 1:45 pm on Wednesday, according to Nepal's National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center.

It struck 69 km from Jumla in Nepal and the depth of the quake was 10 km and occurred at around 1.30 pm, the National Center of Seismology said.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.4, Occurred on 22-02-2023, 13:30:23 IST, Lat:29.56 & Long:81.70, Depth: 10 Km ,Location: 143km E of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand," National Center for Seismology tweeted.
Meanwhile, tremors were felt in Delhi, NCR, Uttarakhand, Haryana and parts of Uttar Pradesh. The intensity was measured at 4.4 on the Richter scale and the epicentre has been located in Haridwar.

Earthquakes are common in Nepal, which is mostly covered by mountains and home to most of the highest peaks in the world. Recently, at least three houses collapsed after a magnitude 5.8 quake hit Nepal.
In Nepal, there are partly large earthquakes with strengths of more than 7.0, which cause damages within a radius of over 100 kilometers. Measured by the size of the country, earthquakes do not occur very frequently.
Since 1950, more than 9,700 people died by the direct consequences of earthquakes.
