Earthquake In Jammu & Kashmir: Two Back-To-Back Quakes Hit Baramulla
Two back-to-back earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.9 and 4.8 struck Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Tuesday morning, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
No casualties or significant damage have been reported so far. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.

The first quake, registering 4.9 on the Richter scale, occurred at approximately 6:45 am at a shallow depth. The second, recorded at a magnitude of 4.8, occurred at a depth of around 10 km.

Most of the Kashmir Valley, including the districts of Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar in the Jammu region, falls under Seismic Zone V, indicating a very high risk of severe earthquakes, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority.
