Early summer vacation for Indore students

District Collector Aakash Tripathi has asked all government and private schools to stop teaching sessions and declare vacation for students from Class I to VIII, official sources said today.
The two-month-long vacation in schools normally starts from May 1, but due to prevailing heat-wave conditions, the administration has decided to advance the holiday period this year, they said. The administration's order came into effect from April 21. To provide relief to students in Std IX to XII, the schools have been asked to wind up classes by 12.30 pm.
Temperatures have shot up above normal readings in several parts of the country. New Delhi reports a temperature of 39 degree celsius, Ahmedabad 44, Hyderabad 40, Chennai 36, Kolkata 39 and Lucknow 42.
