E Palaniswamy has staked a claim to form the next government in Tamil Nadu. During a meeting with the governor Palaniswamy claimed that he had a majority of the AIADMK MLAs.

Meanwhile pro-Sasikala MLAs lodged at the Golden Bay resort have threatened to go on a hunger strike if evicted from the resort.

Sources says Sasikala is unlikely to surrender until the floor test is completed. She feels in her absence many may cross over to the OPS camp.
