The Government of India is set to launch the much-awaited e-Aadhaar mobile app in November 2025, allowing citizens to update key Aadhaar details such as date of birth, residential address, and mobile number directly from their smartphones. This new initiative aims to eliminate long queues at Aadhaar centres and make updates more accessible through AI and Face ID-powered verification.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will introduce the e-Aadhaar app as a major upgrade to existing Aadhaar services. With this launch, most Aadhaar-related updates can be completed without physically visiting an Aadhaar Seva Kendra, simplifying the entire process for millions of users across India.

What Can Be Updated on the e-Aadhaar App

Through the e-Aadhaar mobile app, users will be able to update essential details including:

These updates, which previously required long waits and physical verification, can now be completed instantly on smartphones. However, biometric updates such as fingerprints or iris scans will still require visiting an Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
