Dummy hand grenades trigger hoax bomb call on train
Belagavi (Karnataka), May 11: Dummy hand grenades carried by Army men on Mysuru–Ajmer Express led to the train being delayed by about five hours at nearby Desur station today after someone mistook the objects for a bomb and sounded an alert.
Railway authorities said the train had arrived at Desur about three hours late and on receiving a phone call regarding a bomb being carried on board it, Belagavi Station Superintendent alerted Desur station official to stop it there.

Railway Police Force, District Reserve Police, dog squad and bomb disposal squad carried out a thorough search but found no explosives, they said.
Later, it was found that army personnel were carrying dummy hand grenades for training, which led to the hoax call. The train left the station about four hours later after security clearance, they said.
