Drunk Air-India passenger tied to his seat for misbehaving

New Delhi, Aug 23:A drunk and abusive Air-India passenger was tied to his seat on a 12-hour Air India flight from Melbourne to Delhi on Wednesday.

The 27-year old man is reported to have turned aggressive after a few drinks and have misbehaved with his copassengers and the crew members. In fact, he is said to have bitten a few passengers. He is also said to have shouted at crew members and tear clothes of two of them.

He was finally overpowered by the crew and passengers and tied to his seat for the entire journey.

The pilot had considered diverting the flight to Singapore for the safety of the passengers. However, the airline reportedly advised him to continue the flight to avoid any delay.

The passenger was handed over to the police the moment the flight landed in Delhi. The airport security agencies entered the aircraft, caught hold of the man and turned him over to the police.

This joins the list of mid-air incidents, which happened in Virgin Australia flight to Indonesia where an unruly passenger was arrested for raising flse hijack alarm. He was arrested when the flight landed in Bali.

A similar incident happened in New York's JFK airport when a passenger was duct taped after he kicked off a row.
