Driving license simplified; RTO may have a lesser role

RTO's interference in DL lessened
New Delhi, Aug 19: The Central government is planning to curtail human involvement in acquiring driving license. Bringing changes to a Motor Vehicle Act, the government is likely to redefine the role of Regional Transport Offices. In fact, their discretionary powers are likely to be curtailed.

More precisely, they are likely to make changes based on the idea of minimum human interference and more technology in issuing licenses.
