‘Don’t Serve Dinner To Your Husband, If He Chants Modi’: Delhi CM Kejriwal Tells Women Voters

With Lok Sabha elections around the corner, political parties are trying their best to woo the voters. In the series, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)supremo Arvind Kejriwal told women voters not to serve dinner to their husbands, if they talk about BJP or chant Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name. Addressing a public gathering titled 'Mahila Samman Samaroh', a day after International Women's Day 2024, CM Kejriwal said "Many men are chanting PM Modi's name, but you have to set it right. If your husband chants Modi's name, tell him you won't serve him dinner."

The event was to make women aware of the Delhi Government's latest announcement to give financial aid of Rs 1,000 every month to women in the national capital, who are above 18 years of age. The decision was recently taken during Delhi's 2024-25 budget.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

Wooing the women voters, Arvind Kejriwal said, ask your family members to extend support to him and the INDIA bloc in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. "Only your brother Kejriwal will stand by you," CM told the women. He also requested women supporters to spread the word among other women.

"Tell them that I have made their electricity-free, their bus tickets free, and now I'm giving these Rs 1,000 to women every month. What has the BJP done for them? Why vote for the BJP then? Vote for Kejriwal this time," Aam Aadmi Party chief said.

Targetting the Central government, Kejriwal added that women of this country are being cheated in the name of empowerment.

"The parties give some post to a woman and say that women have been empowered. I am not saying that women should not get posts, they should get big posts and tickets, they should get everything. But only two or four women benefit from this. What do the rest of the women get?" asked Kejriwal.

The Aam Aadmi Party has joined hands with Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. AAP will contest on 4 seats out of 7, while Congress will field its candidates on the rest 3 seats.
