DMK petition over trust vote: Madras HC seeks videos

The court has asked the petitioner to submit videos from the February 18 ruckus in the Tamil Nadu assembly

The Madras high court, while hearing a petition on the vote of confidence, sought submission of videos of the assembly proceedings on Wednesday. The court asked the petitioner to submit videos from Saturday, February 18, when a ruckus broke out following the confidence motion moved by Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy. The court also adjourned the hearing to Monday, February 27.

The DMK had moved the high court seeking to declare the vote of confidence as null and void. The DMK in its petition had alleged that undemocratic ways were adopted to run the house on Saturday and that the results of the floor test should not be considered valid.

Apart from moving the high court, the DMK also submitted a letter seeking no-confidence motion against Tamil Nadu assembly Speaker P Dhanapal. The letter was submitted to the assembly secretary on Tuesday.
