DMK moves court to declare TN floor test null and void
They have done so after the governor asked them to approach a court if they were dissatisfied with the process
The DMK has moved the Madras high court on Monday seeking a directive to declare the floor test conducted as null and void. On Saturday, E Palanisamy won the floor test amid chaos and the DMK staging a walkout.
The DMK's petition comes after Tamil Nadu in-charge Governor Vidyasagar Rao refused to intervene despite the ruckus that was witnessed on Saturday. Rao has sought a detailed report on actual incidents in the assembly, he turned down requests from the O Panneerselvam camp as well as DMK to declare the floor test null and void. The governor has even asked both parties to approach a court if they were dissatisfied with the process.
The DMK has already announced a day-long protest and hunger strike against the government over its MLAs being allegedly manhandled on Saturday. DMK cadres protested across the state condemning the alleged attack. They have now initiated a legal battle as well against the Palanisamy government.
